Our Mission
(Our understanding of God's purpose for our church; why we exist.)

"Our mission is to connect people with Jesus Christ
and equip them to live the adventure of faith."

Because Jesus came to seek and save the lost, we feel compelled to help people of all ages make a life-transforming connection with Him. Through the various ministries of the church, we desire that people will grow in their faith, become conformed to Christ's character, and live out the purpose for which they have been uniquely created.

Our Strategy
(How We Carry Out Our Mission)

We will connect people with Jesus Christ and equip them to live the Adventure of Faith by creating compelling environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue the five purposes for which they were created: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and mission:

  • Worship - knowing God better and loving God more
  • Fellowship - loving others as God loves them
  • Discipleship - becoming more like Christ
  • Ministry - serving God by serving others
  • Mission - sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and His love with others.

Core Beliefs
(Bedrock beliefs that we turn to in challenging times)

God loves me and has a purpose for my life.
(Ephesians 2:10)

God forgives every sin, and invites me into a relationship with Him
through His Son, Jesus Christ.
(John 3:16, Romans 6:23)

God is with me. He guides me, comforts me, and empowers me
through the presence of the Holy Spirit. I am not alone.
(Luke 12:10-12, John 14:26, Hebrews 13:5)

God has given me His Word in the Bible,
which is my guide for life
.
(2 Tim 3:16)

God changes our lives as He hears
and answers our prayers.

(Matthew 7: 7-11)

God can do anything.
All things are possible with God
.
(Luke 18:27, Philippians 4:13)

God is dependable.
“Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.”

(Heb 13:8)

Our Core Values
(Behaviors we endeavor to model and encourage each other
to demonstrate in our daily lives)

Hospitality/Acceptance
We warmly welcome people of all ages and circumstances.

Integrity/Moral Character
We purpose to act with honesty and integrity in all areas of our lives.

Authenticity
What we say and how we live should be an authentic expression of who we are.

Sharing our faith

Because people matter to God and to us, we are ready and willing
to passionately share our faith with them.

Joy
We recognize the incredible blessings of God in our lives,
and express our joy through worship, through relationships with one another,
and in the thankful attitudes of our hearts.

Generosity
Giving of our time, talent, and treasure is a reflection of the character of Christ.

Service
We will use our spiritual gifts, our heart’s passion, our abilities, our personalities,
and our experiences to serve the cause of Christ.

Love
We desire to love one another as Christ has loved us:
sacrificially, compassionately, and unconditionally.

Forgiveness
We seek forgiveness and offer forgiveness to others.

Adventure
We are willing to act in faith, take risks, and go into new places,
believing that God is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do.

Our Vision

We are becoming a community where people of all ages...

1. Worship God Joyfully. We want to be a church where joy and celebration reign whenever we gather for worship, whether it's during the opening of a Sunday School Class, the start of a small-group meeting, or the beginning of a Sunday worship service. "Make a joyful noise to the Lord. Come into His presence with thanksgiving, and enter His courts with praise!"

2. Learn from inspired and creative teaching. Whether it's a worship service message or a young child's Bible class or a youth group meeting, our talented teachers must use their gifts with all the creativity and dynamism needed to communicate effectively with today's people.

3. Receive nurture and support in small groups. It's never to early to be in a small group. We have small groups for children during UpStreet. We have "face2face" for our youth, and we have many small groups for adults. This is where people receive the nurture, support, caring, prayer, and encouragement from established relationships with other Christians.

4. Serve in ministry according to their gifts. We must make sure that all who serve are serving according to their God given gifts, and that everyone with a God-given gift has a place to serve. Imagine a church where gifted leaders lead, gifted teachers teach, gifted administrators administrate, gifted pray-ers intercede for all of us, gifted givers give generously, gifted helpers help, gifted mercy-givers make hospital and shut-in calls, and so on. The secret is to recognize how God has gifted and equipped us, and to organize ourselves accordingly.

5. Invite Others to Participate. Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. That starts with a willingness to invite them to come and experience this vital, biblically-functioning community we call Adventure of Faith.

As God continues to bless Adventure of Faith, we envision a church that is characterized by:

* Continual growth, as new believers join the Body of Christ
* Passionate Worship
* Teaching the Word of God
* Reaching the Unchurched
* Family Emphasis
* Community Impact
* Missions (Local and Global)
* Utilization of the Arts, to the glory of God
